Heurigenfinder is a private, non-commercial app that helps users discover which local wine taverns ("Heurige") in the Northern and Central Burgenland region of Austria are currently open. The app is operated by:

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the app's features:

• Account data: Your email address and name when you create an account. This is processed by our hosting platform (Base44).
• Favorites: The wine taverns you mark as favorites are stored locally on your device and in your account.
• Location data: Only if you explicitly grant permission. Your location is used solely to calculate distances to nearby taverns. It is processed locally on your device and is never stored on our servers.
• Push notification token: If you enable push notifications, an anonymized push token is stored to allow us to send you notifications about your favorite taverns. This token contains no personal information.
• User submissions: If you submit suggestions or photos through the app, the content you provide may be stored and potentially published in the app.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide app functionality (login, favorites, notifications)
• To calculate distances to wine taverns (local, on-device only)
• To send push notifications about opening times for your favorite taverns

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process your data based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and for the performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Data about listed wine taverns (public business data) is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. The app's technical infrastructure is provided by Base44. Push notifications are delivered via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Both services may process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect your data.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app under Settings. Push notification tokens are deleted automatically when you disable notifications or delete your account.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data (directly via app Settings)
• Restrict or object to data processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: www.dsb.gv.at

8. Permissions We Request

• Location (optional): To show distances to nearby taverns. Only used when explicitly granted and never stored on our servers.
• Notifications (optional): To send you updates about your favorite taverns opening.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

This app does not use advertising cookies. We use local device storage (localStorage) to save your preferences such as favorites and settings. This data stays on your device.
